This is an amazing seasoning for all your Tex-Mex dishes. Great uses for street tacos, beef picadillo tacos, carne asada, brisket enchiladas, and much more. I love to mix this seasoning with my chili seasoning when making homemade chili. Thanks for the support. Enjoy!
Recipe: Weeknight Beef Tacos
Serves 4 | Prep: 10 minutes | Cook: approximately 15–20 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon Betcha Got Seasonings Taco Seasoning, or to taste
- 1/2 small onion, finely diced
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1/2 cup water
- 8 small tortillas or taco shells
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Lime wedges, for serving
Directions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the beef and onion and cook for approximately 8–10 minutes, breaking up the meat and stirring frequently.
- Use a food thermometer to confirm the ground beef reaches at least 160°F. Carefully drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in the Taco Seasoning and tomato paste, then add the water. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for approximately 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the filling is moist but not watery. Add a splash of water if it becomes too dry.
- Warm the tortillas or taco shells according to the package directions.
- Divide the beef among the tortillas or shells. Top with lettuce, tomato and cheese, and serve with lime wedges.
Tip: Taste the cooked filling before adding more seasoning or salt. Put the toppings on the table so everyone can build their own tacos.
